Th crash occurred on Herbertsville Road (County Route 459) just before 12:25 p.m.
The motorcyclist was struck by the dump truck when he failed to negotiate a curve to the right and instead drove into oncoming traffic.
The Newton’s Corner/Herbertsville split was closed for several hours.
The dump truck driver remained at the scene and no charges were filed. The motorcyclist's name was not released.
